Happy Christmas :)
Tuesday, December 25, 2012
Happy Holidays! From me, to you. :)
     Excuse my face. :))

     Christmas, inevitably, doesn't feel the same as it did before. At least for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy it's Christmas, I am joyous that we may celebrate it and, of course, the true reason for this season. It just doesn't excite me like it used to. Perhaps it's because we didn't have a block Christmas party like we'd always have a Christmas party when I was still in high school. Maybe it's because I was too stressed when the -ber months started.  I don't really know for sure. But rest assured that I wish you all a happy and festive Christmas! I still love the Christmas season even if I didn't feel the spirit right away. :))

    Sorry if my posts have been short and boring, I've been busy going out, bumming around, hanging out with friends, and the like. I really have to provide more time for my blog though.

     And what's a Christmas post without some Christmas music? I present to you some Death Cab For Cutie, Wavves and Best Coast. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)

Lemme throw in some Weezer too.

Free drinks!
My brother practicing before their set

These were taken last September 1 at 7th High. My brother's band, Meditate, had a gig at the event Rockin' High @ 7th High, organized by 99.5 RT. I just tagged along. I was supposed to be the photographer, but I ended up doing a crappy job by my own standards. I was too engrossed with the music, and I was feeling the VIP Lounge just a little bit too much. Perks of being with the band.
Still regretting the fact that I didn't have a picture taken with She's Only Sixteen who also played that night. Oh well.

Constant Conversations
Monday, August 20, 2012

Borrowed Jak's Kikomachine Komix collection. This is one of the things that have been helping me relax and get rid of stress. :) Rakenrol!

Another thing keeping me from going insane over all the academic stress I am going through is, of course, music. :) i've been listening to a lot of Passion Pit lately. My love for their sound was just resurrected because of their song Constant Conversations. Here is the St. Lucia remix that I love too:

A lot of things have happened in the last two weeks that I was away from my blog. My life has been quite stressful (but still happy on the side :D). I've been mostly busy with my academics. But really, when I think about the last two weeks, I don't even know what I really did. It's all such a blur. I blame lack of sleep and water consumption (no jokes here).

But anyway, just last week, something sad and unfortunate happened. The mom of one of my best friends passed away last Wednesday. I don't have a lot to say about it right now, but Myka did mention it in her two previous posts here and here

Well, just thought to update a bit here. I hope I'll get to post more in the duration of our long weekend. :)

Sing me to sleep,
Sing me to sleep,
I'm tired and I
I want to go to bed...
~~~
This is just the perfect song for my mood right now.
I will forever and always love this song.
Stepdad: Ordinaire
Tuesday, May 22, 2012
So two weeks back, when I was still having sleeping problems and surfed the internet until the sun came up (literally, mind you), I came upon this little gem of a band called Stepdad. The first song I heard from them was "Find Love" and I just fell in love with it and searched for an album or EP that might be in existence. I was extremely glad to have found their Ordinaire EP! I streamed the whole EP on their site and just loved every single song. I was waiting to dislike at least one, but I'm glad to say I didn't. They're just so fun and electric, and have a massive pop sound. I really can't explain it properly so just listen!
Enjoy! :)
Be With You
Wednesday, April 25, 2012
A summary of my summer playlist, which in fact gets longer as the summer days flow by. Not that I mind really. Nothing feels better than listening to music and discovering fresh and underrated artists.
Left to right, top to bottom:
1. "i want! i want!" by Walk The Moon
2. "His + Hers" by The Hawk In Paris
3. "Leagues EP" by Leagues
4. "Baby" by Tribes
5. "Moving Closer" and "Davenport" by Never The Strangers
6. "Open EP" by Rhye
7. "Cold Coffee" by Ed Sheeran
8. "Keep It Low" by The Hundred in the Hands
9. "Heart In Your Heartbreak" by The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
10. "A Different Kind Of Fix" by Bombay Bicycle Club
11. "This Sweet Love" by James Yuill
12. "Broken Bottles" by Silversun Pickups
For the record, I believe that Bombay Bicycle Club's album A Different Kind Of Fix should be part of every summer playlist for this summer and all summers yet to come. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart should probably be with them too. Or is it just me? :))
 Another band/artist (you can't be sure anymore, with the names they choose and all) that I just have to include now is Vacationer. I am currently listening to their songs Great Love and Be With You and I promise you, they're gold.
Just another music-and-movies kind of summer for me.
We've got no money, but we've got heart
Friday, April 20, 2012
I present to you Walk the Moon's song, Anna Sun, one of my all time favorite songs!
I stumbled upon this gem of a song earlier this year and I haven't stopped listening since. It's just such a feel good song and absolutely perfect for a good vibe summer. The video never fails to make me smile either, especially the dance part. How fun would it have been to be an extra on this video? Oh I dunno, it's just ridiculously happy!
As of now, the only thing playing non-stop on my iPod is Walk the Moon's EP, Anna Sun. I'll be checking out their previous albums and EP as well.
Happy listening! :)
I swear, I am in love with this song. I have no other words.
---
I’m a fool for that shake in your thighs
I’m a fool for that sound in your sighs
I’m a fool for your belly
I’m a fool for your love
I wanna make this plain
Oh, I know you’re faded
Hmm, but stay, don’t close your eyes
Caught in this pool held in your eyes
Caught like a fool without a line
We’re in a natural spring
With this gentle sting between us
I wanna make this plain
Oh I know you’re faded
Hmm, but stay, don’t close your eyes
Hmm, stay open.
Cameo Lover
Friday, March 23, 2012
I was supposed to go to my best friend Pam's house today to hang out, but then I woke up not feeling too well and quite broke too. So here I am stuck at home in front of the computer.
Now, I just want to share this song that I've been majorly LSS-ing on. I even got Myka hooked on it. :))
I came about this artist named Kimbra after hearing her featured on Gotye's song. I listened to some of her songs, then stumbled upon Cameo Lover. I swear, this song is catchy! The video makes me want to buy a tambourine. :))  Give it a go and listen to it. :)
You're my Escape
Monday, February 20, 2012
Over the weekend, I fell in love with another band--the Techy Romantics. <3
Techy Romantics is a local 'chillectro' group consisting of Ryan Villena on guitar, Camyl Besinga on vocals, and Dondi Virrey on the awesome rhythm and beats. They started in 2008, which makes me feel a bit late hearing about them. Then again, I'm not so updated about the local music scene anymore, let alone the indie scene.
My brother made me listen to them after he heard them live last Friday at DLSU's ANIMOvement, and at the very first beat of their song 'Escape' I was converted into an immediate fan. Their sound is precisely my cup of tea.
Currently, I'm downloading their first album, Touch, and of course their current album Escape
Eargasms all around.
I'll leave you with their single 'Escape'.
L-R: The Naked and Famous-Passive Me, Aggressive You; Neon Indian-Era Extraña; Starfucker-Reptilians; Wolf Gang-Suego Faults; Houses-Soak It Up; Strawberry Whiplash-Picture Perfect; Echo Lake-Another Day; Sóley-We Sink; IMMOOR-She Moves
Just some songs and albums I am currently addicted to. Like seriously addicted to. I built up this playlist after discovering the side of YouTube I never even knew existed. I listen to music on a regular basis, but I rarely create playlists for the sole reason of wearing them out or 'til my ears start to bleed from the repeat. I'm quite sure this current list won't wear out anytime soon though.
In other news, our apology letters from Ateneo arrived at school today, and it was rather depressing--but just a tad bit. I didn't even know what it was when our principal 'flung it' (sorry, lack of a better term) to our laps while we were waiting to start practicing for our cotillion. I think I've finally accepted the rejection, though a little bit of bitterness and regret sometimes manifests itself. But why let it bring me down when better opportunities present themselves? As some people would express; Carpe diem.
