Celine and I during a Smart Communications lecture @UP.        With Jen, taking photos & tweeting during SocSci

Last Saturday in Bon Appetea and also had a spontaneous foodtrip with Shinji and Pauline!

With Jeck and Myka on a shuttle ride home together. :)

Last Wednesday. After classes got suspended, I went to MOA with my brother, Myka, and her blockmate, Gertie. Afterwards, I met up with Pam and Shinji and we had a Bon Appetea date. :)
Jak's doodles on the Bon App wall. It's really hard to miss.
French macarons!
These red velvet cupcakes were absolutely delicious! Thanks to Shinji for treating us to some of these. :)
So, this is what I've been up to lately, more or less. More on the less side though. I've been more busy with school related stuff than I make it obvious. We have upcoming reports, running assignments, long tests, exams and quizzes to study for, events to take note of, org responsibilities, and more. Of course, you can add weather related problems to the stress I'm experiencing, as the weather has been quite stormy lately. But the upside of that is it raises the chances of class suspensions. You would not want to commute in Manila in rainy weather at all.

Right now, I should be studying for a long test on History this coming Monday, plus I should be working on a write up as part of my application for my org's newspaper. I also have other org work that I have to pass on Monday. But here I am, blogging away, turning away from my responsibilities. What can I say, old habits just really die hard...

P.S. First photo is from Celine, the second one is from Jen, and the fourth one is from Pauline. The rest are mine. :)

Little Louie's Cupcakes! ❤
Saturday, June 16, 2012

So yesterday, after being dismissed early from our last afternoon class at UP Manila, I went straight to DLSU to attend their Centennial Closing Bazaar. I really had no intention of shopping or anything. I was just there for two things: to finally see the inside of DLSU (because I'm lame and I've never been inside) and to look for Little Louie's Cupcakes! And I must say, mission accomplished!

Since we got there at around a quarter to six, there were only quite a handful of boxes left. It was fine though, the flavors left were still some I wanted to try.
My brother's pick, the special DLSU-themed cupcake! The flavor of this was Salted Caramel.
My brother said he really liked this and kept saying "Ang sarap!"
I picked the Apple Carrot cupcake for my mom.
Mom liked this and I tasted it as well, so I agree! Although I wish the cream cheese frosting tasted a pinch more cheesy. I'd order it again, even though I'm biased over my own mom's carrot cake creations. ;)
Salted Caramel for me! In the middle of the cupcake was a gooey salty caramel sauce.
I almost wondered where the salted caramel flavor was, when I bit into the middle and found out. Yum!
Hazelnut Dream for little bro. This was really a dream... <3
This was just pure chocolate-hazelnut goodness! I'd definitely order more of this!

My brother and I wanted to try their Red Velvet cupcake, but sad to say there didn't seem to be any left. But at least we finally got to try the others! :) I was also looking for some Bailey's cupcakes, but they didn't have them. Oh well.

Overall, Little Louie's Cupcakes are super yummy and satisfying. They definitely satisfied my craving. I'll be ordering a lot more soon, probably when I've saved up a good bit of my allowance. ;)

P.S. If you are curious about another flavor, my best friend Myka blogged about Little Louie's Cupcakes' Jack Daniel's cupcake here. :)

Good Food, Good Times: The Plantation
Friday, March 30, 2012
First of all before anything else--I am officially a high school graduate! It was a bit bittersweet and all, but I was all smiles, and tears only barely touched my eyes during the graduation ceremony. But I'll save all that dramatic stuff for another post, since I don't have pictures from the event yet (*paging Dad--send me the photos ASAP please*).

Well, after the ceremony at school and saying "Congratulations!" and "Thank You!" and "Aww, I'll miss you!" to a lot of people, my family and I headed to Makati for my graduation party/my aunt's birthday celebration.

So now, let me introduce you to my new favorite place to dine in: The Plantation. :)
It was my second time eating there, and I've officially concluded that I LOVE the place.

I didn't quite get the names of our appetizers, but the first one is calamaris, and the second one consists of deep-fried potato wedges and shrimp with a really delicious dip. (I think it's fish and chips?)

This Jambalaya is one of my absolute favorites. :)
Mom's order: Cajun Chicken Pasta. I tasted this, and it was good too.

And my order, Tuna Pesto Pasta. It was okay in my opinion, since I've actually tasted a better pesto pasta. Still not bad though!

We didn't know, but it was actually Ladies' Night when we went there, so the ladies had free cocktails! This was kind of like lychee/pineapple juice splashed with alcohol. I'm not fond of lychees or pineapples, but I kind of liked this drink.

Just my younger brother enjoying a sip of the cocktail :))
We ordered a lot of other dishes, but I was too hungry to take pictures of everything. :))

Let me just mention, The Plantation's servings are rather big too. The first time I went there, I ordered their Chicken Parmiggiana, and let me tell you, it was HEAVEN(see photo below). I mean, who can resist a bacon wrapped fillet of chicken, topped with baked cheese and marinara sauce, sitting on top of a delicious bed of mashed potatoes? I felt so full after eating just that! Spell SULIT. ;)

Taken with my phone camera, from the first time I ate there. :)
An almost finished plate of the 3-Cheese Aubergine
So, the next time you're in Makati, I HIGHLY recommend eating at The Plantation. It's just a small place, but it gets crowded with lots of people--with good reason. ;) You won't go broke at all, I promise. Plus, the people who work there are friendly. Parang tropa lang yung iba. :))
If you still don't find my spazzed post about them convincing at all, just check out their Facebook site HERE.

P.S. I wasn't asked to blog about this at all, I'm just a very frustrated food blogger. :))
